Landscaping in Bellaire
Bellaire is its own incorporated city, not a Houston neighbourhood: a few square miles with its own city hall, surrounded on all sides by Houston and West University Place. What that means for a landscape is mostly a matter of what got built. Bellaire has long been known for generous residential lots and a heavy mature tree canopy, and for a sustained run of teardown-and-rebuild activity.
That rebuild activity is why so much of the landscaping work here starts from bare ground. A newly finished house typically has compacted subsoil, no topsoil worth the name, no irrigation and a grade set for construction rather than for planting. The landscape is the last trade on site and inherits every decision made before it — which is exactly why grading, soil and irrigation are worth doing properly before anything green goes down.
Underneath all of it is the same heavy clay the rest of the Gulf Coast sits on, on ground that is close to flat. Water moves slowly here. Where a lot has been regraded around a new slab, the drainage is worth checking before the sod goes in rather than the following spring.
What properties here tend to need
New-construction landscapes from bare ground
Grade, soil, irrigation, sod and foundation planting on a lot that has just come off a build. Getting the sequence right is most of the job — every step after grading is harder to fix than it was to do.
Irrigation designed for the planting, not the plan
A sprinkler layout drawn before the beds exist waters the wrong things. Heads, zones and run times are worth setting against what actually got planted.
Working around a mature canopy
Bellaire's older lots came with trees worth keeping. Bed work under them is planned around roots and shade rather than through them.
Drainage on flat clay
Close to flat, on soil that holds water. Where a lot pools, the fix belongs in the grade, not in the plant list.

Do you landscape new-build homes in Bellaire?
Yes. Landscaping Installation covers a property from bare ground — planting, beds, sod, hardscape and the associated groundwork. It is quoted per property rather than at a published rate, because scope and site conditions decide the cost.
Can you install and repair sprinkler systems in Bellaire?
Yes. Sprinkler System Repairs are booked as a 1 hour 30 minute appointment at $150/hr, with diagnosis not to exceed that window and the repair included if it can be completed inside it.
Bellaire is its own city — does that change anything?
Not for the services themselves or their prices. Bellaire does run its own permitting separately from the City of Houston, so anything structural is confirmed with the city before work is scheduled.
