Overview

Mature trees are usually the most valuable thing in a Houston yard and the hardest to replace. Live oaks in particular reward being left largely alone and punished by heavy-handed trimming, so most of the work here is restraint: clearing the roof and the drive, taking out what is dead or crossing, and otherwise letting the tree be a tree.

Timing matters more here than in most places. Oak wilt makes the pruning calendar a real consideration rather than a preference, and storm season makes a dead limb over a roof a different kind of problem in August than in January.

FAQ

Trees questions.

Do you remove trees?

Removals and stump grinding are arranged through insured tree specialists we work with, rather than carried out in-house. Tell us what you need taking down and we will tell you plainly whether it is something we can organise and what it involves.

When should oaks be trimmed in Houston?

Oak wilt risk makes timing a real consideration here, and the usual advice is to avoid pruning oaks during the periods when the disease spreads most readily. We will tell you whether your tree should wait rather than cutting it because we happen to be on site.

Can my tree just be made smaller?

Not safely, if what you mean is topping it. Cutting a tree back to stubs shortens its life and produces weak regrowth. Crown cleaning and clearance pruning usually get you the room you actually wanted.

A storm brought down limbs. Can you clear it?

Yes. Storm damage clearance is part of this service. If what is left standing is unsafe, that goes to the insured specialists rather than to our crew.

How much does tree work cost?

It is quoted per property, because size, access, what is underneath the tree and how the debris leaves the site all change the number. Quotes by phone, video or online are free, and on-site estimates are free inside Loop 610, $50 inside Beltway 8 and $100 beyond. One-off jobs carry a mobilization fee on those same zones.
