Overview

Most of the year in Houston, the hours you are actually home and outside are after sunset. An unlit garden simply stops existing at that point. The planting, the paving and the trees you spent money on go dark, and the yard becomes somewhere you walk through rather than sit in.

Lighting is also the least expensive way to change how a property reads. Uplighting a few mature trees, washing a facade, and marking the paths does more for a house at night than most daytime work does in daylight.

FAQ

Lighting questions.

How much does landscape lighting cost?

It is quoted per property, because the cost is driven by the number of fixtures, the transformer and cable runs required, and how much of the garden you want lit. Quotes by phone, video or online are free, and on-site estimates are free inside Loop 610, $50 inside Beltway 8 and $100 beyond and the estimate follows within a week. One-off jobs carry a mobilization fee on those same zones.

Can you add to a lighting system I already have?

Usually, yes, provided the existing transformer has capacity for the additional load. That is one of the first things checked on the visit.

My outdoor lights have stopped working. Can you repair them?

Yes. Low-voltage systems most often fail at the transformer, at a corroded connection, or at an individual fixture. Diagnosing which it is comes first.

Is landscape lighting low voltage?

The systems installed here are low voltage, which is the standard for garden lighting. It is safer to run through planted areas and easier to extend later.

Will the lights come on automatically?

Yes. Systems are set up on a timer or photocell so they run on their own through the evening rather than needing to be switched.
